Sri Lanka V/S South Africa – 2nd Test Match

ICC had arranged a series between the two tough teams i.e. Sri Lanka and South Africa. Both the bodies gave a better output in the World Cup. This series is arranged in South Africa. A series of three test matches is to be played. In the first test match, Sri Lanka shows extremely poor result which leads them to lose the match by an innings and 81 runs. But in the second test match Sri Lanka come up with new strategy and tactics. Match was played in Durban. Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat. In their first innings Sri was able to score 338 runs.

Samaraweera was the leading scorer with 102 runs following with Chandimal with 58 runs. M De Lange was extra ordinary in his bowling who had taken 7 wickets. But in the first innings of South Africa they gave inadequate result which was only 168 runs. Hashim Amla scores 54 runs from South Africa. Herath and Welegedara were leading wicket takers with 4 and 5 wickets respectively. Sri was already ahead with a big score, further in second innings they score 279 runs. Sangakkara contributes 108 runs to his team total score. From bowling line up Steyn took 5 wickets. Now the target for South Africa was huge one of 450 runs. There are only five teams which had able to reach thousand (1000) goals since the league had begun. Among them Manchester United is the first on to score 1000 goal in the year 2005-2006.
